Winter Tips
Its about that time again that the snow flies and panic starts so here are a few tips to help you in the winter. When we start to get snow falls it is really important that we keep our wheels clean for multiple reasons, first reason being to prevent snow build up in the rim and this would cause a wheel imbalance and another reason is to prevent the salt from sitting on the rims and start deteriorating the the rim.
A couple other good tips for winter is to ensure you have good working wiper blades on the vehicle and always keep them clean, if the ice builds up on the blade it affects the blades ability to clean and also begins to destroy the rubber. It is also a good idea to keep a bottle of washer fluid in your vehicle so if you ever run out and are driving in a snow storm you have fluid on hand.
Another good tip for winter is to check your headlight aim and ensure that it is lighting your path properly, if you havn't had your headlights aimed in a long time it would be a good idea as properly aimed headlights improve visibility dramatically.
The last tip is to keep the treads on your vehicle clean, just using your windshield scraper run it down the grooves and clean the treads to keep the grooves deep and biting into the snow, if your treads are filled with snow the tires do not grab as well as a clean tire.
